Gaming is a 1 Billion plus market and will increase it’s popularity over the next years to come: In other words an interesting ground for blockchain and growth. During the development unfortunate things happened and the founder abruptly left the project. The Atheios team though reacted swiftly and the chain was branched in June 2019 putting the development on a stable ground. As this might sound easy, it was really surprising to see how many hands there were to step up. This leaded us to the path of being a truly community run coin.

Let us start with the gaming aspect. Today we have people who spend time on gaming - really a lot of time. The engagement and experience gained should be worth something. Of course there are those 1 million dollar tournaments where team A battles team B, but we think even the less enthusiastic or even casual gamers should get rewarded. Here we think Atheios can come to the table. Atheios is the coin to use when You think You are skilled at a game. Depending on Your skills You wage and can gain Atheios when You win the game with Your skills. This could be done with any crypto, right? Possibly, but we focus on building the infrastructure around Atheios.

We are deploying an Atheios ecosystem and want to make it super easy for game developers to onboard Atheios in their games. Will Atheios be the only possibility? We are no fools, but we definitely want to entice game developers to take Atheios as the prime choice. Which brings us to the blockchain: Immutable and very capable to do smarter things with game assets as Atheios supports contract capabilities. Our ecosystem will tell where to go.

In an ecosystem everybody needs to nourish, otherwise it will be not thriving. So we have the game developer, the gamer and well of course the Atheios team. Let us start in that order. The game developer: Gamers constantly look into monetization. They spend time to deliver an interesting idea and the last thing they want (although sometimes they still need) is to clutter the game with advertising. We don’t think this is the right way to go. With each Atheios spend the developer can get a kickback. And it is not we who decide the kickback it is the developer himself – after all we are not Apple.

Of course it is fun to be the leader of the pack, this drives gamers. But what if You would be the leader of the pack and would actually get rewarded to be the leader of the pack, or maybe the 2nd or 3rd. With each game You will need to spend some Atheios to enter the game, but if You win Your skills will be rewarded. We will offer developers different levers to decide the entry fee, the rewarding scheme and how much if given to the developer itself.

We want the ecosystem to thrive and as we are not Apple, we are not taking a 30% cut. We are not taken any fees. Nothing, nada, nix. Our cut is zero. However, with each game a certain percentage of coins are getting burned. That burn rate is 3%. 97% go to the remaining ecosystem: gamers and game developers. The burn rate will over time increase the value of Atheios. This will make us happy and everyone vested in Atheios.

Atheios will offer a number of building blocks. We have started to build a portal for game developers, a portal for gamers. First out will be a module for integration into HTML5 games. We have chosen Construct 3 as a first platform. Once that is done we want to offer modules for other frameworks as for instance phaser, pixi or larger frameworks like UNITY. Again, we want to be humble and build things from the bottom up.

It is so easy to over promise and under deliver. We do not want to do it. But we will stay on track and we will build a footprint in the gaming community.
